Numismatic Sale #21

We are celebrating our first anniversary of continuous auctions! We are offering several rare and collectible Ancient Greek silver coins in this sale, including tetradrachms from Gela and Lysimachos and a very rare obol from Trieros. We also have a nice selection of Parthian and Sasanian coins, including a scarce imitative issue of Orodes II. Our Roman Provincial section offers a couple of hard to find types; a bear head reverse from Nicopolis and an Augustus bronze from Berytus featuring Varus as legate. Varus would later go on to lose the legionary eagle to the Germanic tribes in the battle of the Teotoburg forest. Our Roman Republican section offers a very rare dupondius of Oppius and a rare variety of a Q. Sicinius and C. Coponius denarius (travelling mint with Pompey). We are also offering an exceptional Domitian sestertius, a few scarcer sestertii of Antoninus Pius, and several scarcer late Roman bronze coins. There is an excellent solidus of Constans II and a wide variety of medieval coins. We are also offering another selection of Australian Trade tokens which sold very well in our earlier auction. We have expanded our notes section to include two Confederate notes, several choice obsolete bank notes, a fractional note and two modern $1 silver certificates for Hawaii and North Africa! There are also a few small lots of world notes. And as always, we are offering a nice selection of pre-Columbian and other antiquities.
