TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, around hand holding pair of scales above PNR / PON M TR P IMP COS DES IT, legend around SC. RIC 85; BMCRE 174. aVF, sandy patina. From David Sear, Roman Coins and Their Values, Millenium edition, 2000: "The explanation of the abbreviation PNR has not been satisfactorily resolved: Pondus Nummorum Restitutum (the weight of the coinage restored) and Ponderum Norma Restitua (the standard of the weights restored) have both been suggested.
