Lot 2-334. Aztec Rattle.

Aztec Rattle. A rare Aztec rattle from Mexico, c. 1400 – 1500 AD. This fine little instrument is 1-7/8” long and has a thick loop handle. It is decorated with delicately incised designs and red paint. Most likely an offering representing drums associated with the Mesoamerican ballgame. Ex Alex Acevedo. Cf.
