Ghandaran Stone Oil Lamp. A beautiful Ghandaran stone oil lamp from the Indus Valley, c. 100 - 300 AD. This finely crafted example is 4-1/4” wide and is carved from the blue-grey chlorite characteristic of the region. The heart-shaped vessel is decorated with overlapping floral petals on the exterior and serrated designs on the rim. Rare type, good mineral deposits, minor losses.  Ex Birch estate.
