Chimu Whistle Vessel. A fine Chimu double-chambered whistle vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. This lovely figural example is 6-1/2– long, 5-1/2– high and has a marine motif decorating both chambers. It depicts birds feeding on fish. The figure has hair flowing onto the shoulders, with arms resting atop the front chamber. Intact, with strong mineral deposits and high-pitched tone on the whistle. Ex Zegarra collection.
