A lot of 2 Roman ceramic ‘Frog’ lamps from Egypt. A lot of 2 Roman ceramic ‘Frog’ lamps from Egypt, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, both ovoid with rounded sides, one with a stylized frog design on the back and the other a geometric design containing palm-fronds. On the bases, one with an incised ring and the other with a stylized seated goddess, most unusual. L: 3 ¼” (8.3 cm) & 3 1/8” (7.9 cm). Both intact, one with some chipping to the spout and age cracks around the edge. Ex English private collection. Value Range: $350 - $400.
