Nayarit Figure from Mexico, ca. 200 BC - 300 AD. A choice Nayarit polychrome figure from West Mexico, ca. 200 BC – 300 AD. This seated pregnant female is 4-1/2" high and is depicted with arms resting on her legs. She is adorned with large ear ornaments, multiple bracelets and a nose ornament. Clothing is indicated with red pigment over the cream slip. An excellent example with vivid paint and strong mineral deposits. Ex Byrnes collection. Value range: $275 - $400.
