A pair of decorative Coptic textile fragments, Roman Egypt, c. 3rd - 5th Century AD, both linen, the first with a lovely band containing geometric decoration, a stylized animal at one end, all in dark brown over golden yellow, L: 15" (38 cm), the other a long decorative strip containing floral and geometric decoration in red over a golden yellow ground, L: 30" (76 cm).
