Caracalla. A.D. 198-217. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.16 g, 7 h). Rome mint, Struck A.D. 206-210. Rare reverse legend. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right / VOTA SOLVT DEC COS III, emperor, veiled and togate, standing left, sacrificing out of patera over tripod; behind tripod, bull recumbant left. RIC 204; BMC 578; RSC 682. VF. 

The common variety of this reverse type for Caracalla has the legend VOTA SVSCEPTA X, of which there were 144 examples in the great Reka Devnia hoard. Of this legend variety, VOTA SOLVT DEC COS III, there were only five specimens.
