Cajamarca Bowl from Peru, ca. 200 - 800 AD. A rare Cajamarca pedestal bowl from Peru, ca. 200 - 800 AD. This nicely decorated example is 6-5/8" in diameter and is decorated with the characteristic stylized designs of this type, executed in reddish brown over white kaolin slip. In addition, two star designs have been incised into the intervening spaces between the mirrored designs. In excellent condition, with strong mineral deposits and signs of extensive usage. Ex Caravallo collection. Value range: $250 - $400.
