Lambayeque Serpent Blade. A rare Lambayeque (Sican) ceremonial blade from Peru, c. 700 – 1300 AD. It is 6-1/2” long and is executed in the form of a feline headed serpent. The facial features and segmented collar are incised on both sides and a suspension perforation is located in the fang-studded mouth. Good mineral deposits and oxidation. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range $250 - $400.
