Phoenicia, Ake-Ptolemaïs. Severus Alexander. A.D. 222-235. Æ (17 mm, 3.52 g, 12 h). IMP CAES M [AV]R S-EV ALE[XANDER AVG], laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / [COL]ONI-A PTOLEMAIS, Perseus standing left, holding head of Medusa and harpa. Kadman -; Rosenberger -; ; Rouvier -. VF, green patina. Possibly unique.

From the Kenneth Miller Collection of Ake-Ptolemaïs and Related Biblical Coins.

The reverse type of the hero Perseus was used earlier under Caracalla, Macrinus, and Elagabalus (Kadman 138, 153, and 161, respectively), but is not recorded for Severus Alexander.
