A Ghandaran Relief depicting two Figures. A Ghandaran relief depicting two figures, c. 2nd - 3rd Century AD, in grey schist, part of a larger composition with a roofed structure supported by columns, featuring a central bust of a woman or deity, heavily adorned with jewelry, and holding a small object, a second head of a man to her left, holding a lotus flower on a long stem. An attractive piece, the roof of the structure nicely adorned with acanthus leaves, the figures facial details well-rendered in fine style. 7 1/8” x 6 ¾” (19.2 x 17.1 cm). Well-preserved with mineral encrustation throughout. Mounted on a custom marble base. Ex Northern California private collection. Value Range: $700 - $800.
