Nazca Bowl. A fine Nazca polychrome bowl from Peru, c. 200 – 400 AD. This delicately made vessel is 4-1/2” in diameter and is decorated with a series of beans, each quite different. The are painted against a red background and separated by linear elements. Certain types of beans were kept as good luck charms, other were used to communicate hidden message. Intact, vivid paint. Ex Caravallo collection. Value range $375 - $500.
