A Mixed lot of 7 Ancient Bronze and Brass Items. A mixed lot of 7 ancient bronze and brass items. Lot includes a large brass S-shaped hook, Near East, c. 1st Millennium BC, with each end in the form of a stylized goat. Intact with some wear from use. Nice brown patination. L: 4 1/8” (10.5 cm); four Near Eastern bronze bracelets, c. 1st Millennium BC, 4 ingot types and one nicely twisted, largest 4 ½” (11.4 cm) in width; and last a 19th century British made Popo Manilla. A small unwearable example as made in Birmingham, England and used throughout West Africa for the purchase of slaves who were then brought to the Americas. W: 2 ¼” (6 cm). A nice group! Ex old English private collection. Value Range $250 $350 .
