Narino Shell Whistles from Colombia, ca. 1250 - 1500 AD. A pair of Narino shell-form whistles from Colombia, ca. 1250 - 1500 AD. These Tuza examples are 2ï¾ and 2-1/4ï¾ long, the first with circular drill incised designs, the second with painted designs executed in red over white slip. They are intact and have strong mineral deposits. Cf. Labbe ï¾Colombia Before Columbusï¾, page 137. Ex Austin estate. Value range: $300 - $400.
