Domitian. A.D. 81-96. AR denarius (18.9 mm, 3.08 g, 5 h). Rome mint, struck A.D. 88-89. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VIII, laureate head right / IMP XXI COS XIIII CENS P P P, Minerva standing left, holding spear, right hand on hip. RIC 677; BMCRE - (cf. 157 for dates); RSC -. aVF, porous. Very Rare. The editors of the new RIC II knew of only two specimens; one in Berlin and the other in a private collection, this may be the third known example. This date in general is rare, having only one example in the British Museum.
