Anonymous (attributed to Nicephorus III). Ca. 1078-1081. AE "Class I" anonymous follis (25.3 mm, 6.06 g, 6 h). Constantinople mint. IC-XC, Nimbate bust of Christ facing, raising right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels / Latin cross with X at center, globule and two pellets at each extremity, flanked by two crescents in upper field and by two floral ornaments in lower field. SBV 1889; DOC 15. aVF, sandy red patina.
