An Egyptian Middle Kingdom Wooden Figure. An Egyptian wooden figure, Middle Kingdom, c. 2061 - 1690 BC, from a model depicting a scene from everyday life, the male figure is kneeling, wearing a short kilt, his arms and torso long and slender and his features well-detailed with a short wig. Both hands are together and he leans slightly forward as if he is kneading dough or something similar, perhaps from a workshop scene. Some weathering but much of the original pigments preserved beneath earthen deposits. H: 6 (15.2 cm). A nice example with head neatly re-attached, no restoration otherwise. Ex New Jersey estate. Est. Value $200 - $300.
