Chupicuaro Tripod Bowl from Mexico, ca. 400 - 100 BC. A lovely Chupicuaro tripod bowl from Mexico, ca. 400 - 100 BC. It is 5-3/4 in diameter and stands on a trio of hollow phalli-form legs, each containing rattles. The highly burnished, deep red slip is decorated with white panels surrounding the rim and shows extensive mineral deposits and root marks. Ex Schultz collection. Value range: $250 - $400.
