Aztec Figural Vessel from Mexico, ca. 1400 - 1500 AD. A choice Aztec-Mixtec tripod vessel from Mexico, ca. 1400 - 1500 AD. It is 6-1/4” high and depicts an individual adorned with large ear ornaments and a fancy headdress. The legs are executed as serpents, each containing rattles and the chamber is covered with painted designs. Vivid paint, heavy mineral deposits, blue stucco remnants. Ex Schultz collection.
