A Nice Fragment of Coptic Textile from Roman Egypt. Ca. 5th - 7th Century AD, in linen, with central vertical band of black bordered by red lines, to either side is a vertical column of decoration consisting of people, animals and floral devices in red over a golden yellow ground. In the upper corners are medallions containing a horseman in dark brown. 10 ¼ in x 8 ¼ in (25.8 x 20.8 cm). Ex Nomis Antiquities. Est. Value $200 - $300.
