A lot of 4 Byzantine lead bullae, c. 7th – 8th Century AD, two depict the Virgin with monograms on the opposite sides, another the best of an emperor with a monogram on the other side and the last with MHTROPO?IS’ in Greek on one side and a monogram on the other. Largest 22mm in diameter, each with a string hole lengthwise. Used to seal documents, boxes and similar during the Byzantine empire.
