Lambayeque Duck Vessel from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. A fine Lambayeque (Sican) vessel from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. This nicely detailed example is 7" high and depicts a duck draped across the chamber of a footed vessel, which is perhaps meant to represent the nest. It is decorated with a band of recurved step-fret designs encircling the flared spout, as well as the chamber. Highly burnished, good mineral deposits. Ex Espinoza estate. Value Range: $450 - $600.
