Syria, Coele-Syria. Chalkis ad Libanon. Ptolemaios. Tetrarch, ca. 85-40 B.C. AE 21 (20.5 mm, 5.32 g, 1 h). Laureate head of Zeus right; c/m: head of Cleopatra VII(?) right / eagle flying right, holding wreath in beak; monograms to left and in the exergue. Herman 3; BMC 2; HGC 1441. aVF, sandy red patina. Scarce. This counter mark was applied to coins of cities that fell within the domain of the Donation of Alexandria, Mark Antony's gift to Cleopatra, in 34 B.C.
