A Roman Ceramic Lamp with a Dolphin. A Roman ceramic oil lamp, late 2nd – early 3rd Century AD, within the discus is a dolphin to right, fill-hole above its back, the shoulders are decorated with a band of vertical lines and the nozzle is short and rounded, handle at back and low ring foot on bottom. L: 4” (10.3 cm). Losses to top of handle, traces of brown slip and mineral deposits throughout. Comes with custom lucite stand with identifying plaque. Ex Orange County private collection. Est.
