Thracian Kingdom. Lysimachos. As King, 306-281 B.C. AR drachm (17.6 mm, 4.29 g, 11 h). Uncertain mint, struck 297-281B.C. Thompson -; Müller -. aVF. Very Rare.
Unpublished in standard references. The most likely mint for this issue is Alexandria Troas, whose early issues under Lysimachos had a similar star under the throne with a secondary control mark in the inner left field. Although drachms are unknown for all of these issues, the style is similar to the tetradrachms. Another of this type was sold by CNG 75, lot 118 for $650.
