SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right / INDVLGENTIA AVGG, IN CARTH, the Dea Caelestis seated facing on lion galloping right over rushing waters, holding thunderbolt and scepter. This coin type was issued to commemorate numerous renovations and additions to the city of Carthage, most importantly, a new aqueduct. Dea Caelestis was the patron goddess of Carthage.
