Lot 53-323. A Lot of 3 Ancient Ceramic Oil Lamps.

A Lot of 3 Ancient Ceramic Oil Lamps. Lot includes an Egyptian ‘frog’ lamp, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, of lentoid shape with three ‘nipples’ on back bordered by vertical lines 3 ¼” x 2 ¾” (8.3 x 7.1 cm); the second is a Roman type from the Holy Land, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, with long rounded nozzle and vertical ridges around the fill-hole, L: 3 ½” (8.9 cm); and the last another Roman type, Holy Land, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, in grey-ware, the flat shoulder with pellets within a raised border, L: 2 ¾” (7.1 cm). All with carbon deposits indicating use in antiquity. Ex Orange County private collection. Est. Value $300 - $400.
