Manteno Head from Ecuador, ca. 1000 - 1500 AD. A large and superbly detailed Manteno head from Ecuador, ca. 1000 - 1500 AD. This nicely burnished example is 2-3/4” high and depicts an individual with the elongated head characteristic of the early types. He is adorned with complex ear ornaments and a large nose ring. Good mineral deposits, mounted on stand. Ex Florida estate. Value range: $125 - $250.
