Moche Shell Bottle. A superb Moche shell vessel from Peru, c. 500 – 700 AD. This fine orangeware effigy piece is 5” high and depicts a sea shell. It is decorated with a large number of nacre inlays, as well as rare purple and white paint. A rare type in excellent condition, with intact suspension loops and strong mineral deposits. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range $400- $500.
