Lot 57-100. Pamphylia, Side. Domitian. As Caesar, A.D. 69-81. AE 18. Struck after A.D. 83.
Pamphylia, Side. Domitian. As Caesar, A.D. 69-81. AE 18 (18.2 mm, 3.51 g, 1 h). Struck after A.D. 83. ΔOMITIANOC KAICAP, laureate head right / CID-HT, Athena advancing left, holding spear and shield; pomegranate and serpent to left. RPC 1527; SNG Cop 415; SNG von Aulock 4811. aVF.
Interestingly, RPC states that this series was struck for Domitian after A.D. 83, yet the coin names Domitian as Caesar (A.D. 69-81). Domitian had been Augustus for at least two years when this coin was struck.
