Ptolemaic Fragment, late 3rd - Mid-1st Century BC. A beautifully detailed terracotta pot-support with mask of Papposeilenos, depicted with long striated beard, Ptolemaic Period, late 3rd - Mid-1st Century BC. This fine fragment from a brazier is 3-1/2” high, with the edge of bowl behind. Ex Cohen Trust. Cf. Bailey, “Ptolemaic and Roman Terracottas from Egypt in the British Museum”, pls. 122-123 for similar examples from Naukratis. Value range: $250 - $400.
