Chavin Dish from Peru, ca. 1200 - 200 BC. An exceptional Chavin stone dish from Peru, ca.1200 - 200 BC. This unusual ovoid shape bowl is 3" in diameter and is made from a dark olive green, speckled stone. It has thin walls, is highly polished and contains significant residue of red pigment on the interior. Rare type with good mineral deposits. Ex Gallatin estate. Value range: $400 - $600.
