Chimu Whistle Vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. An excellent Chimu double-chambered whistle vessel from Peru, ca. 100 - 1450 AD. It is 9 long, 6-3/4 high and features a bird mounted atop one chamber. Both bottles are decorated with a pair of toyos, a type of coastal shark indigenous to Peru. The large handle connecting the spouts is hollow and has openings cut in on both sides. Strong mineral deposits, clear tone on the whistle. Ex Llerena collection. Value range: $500 - $800.
