Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy II Philadelphos. 285-246 B.C. AR tetradrachm (27.88 mm, 12.90 g, 11 h). Alexandria mint, struck 285-270 B.C. Diademed head of Ptolemy right / ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, wings closed; shield in field to right; in field to left, ΠT / AΔP (?) ligate in monogram. Svoronos 531-3; Cf. BMC 36, 150; Cf. SNG Cop. 103. VF, over-enthusiastically cleaned in the past, now re-toning; somewhat porous surfaces, reverse 15% off-center to southwest, losing nothing but border.
