Maya Polychrome Jar. A gorgeous Maya polychrome jar from Honduras, ca. 400 - 800 AD. It is 5-1/4" high, 5-1/4" diameter and features a trio of elaborately detailed figures surrounded by glyphic devices and stylized elements representing deities. The rim band consists of finely drawn glyphs and much of the interior is decorated with colored design bands. The base of this thin-walled beauty is concave and good mineral deposits are evident inside and out. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits and just a minor stabilized hairline.
