Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes. Sole reign, 121/0-97/6 B.C. AR tetradrachm (27.6 mm, 9.36 g, 27.6 h). Ascalon, Dated SE 197 (116/5 B.C.) Diademed head right / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOΞOY, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, palm over shoulder. AΣ-IPP (first P retrograde) across field, dove over altar in left field. SNG Spaer 2606; SC 2339 (5). gVF, rare. All known examples are shipwreck finds and have similar porosity and low weight. This is one of the nicer examples known to exist.
