Calabria, Tarentum. 275-235 B.C. AR nomos (20.2 mm, 6.31 g, 2 h). Lykonos and "SY" (sic) magistrates. ΛΥΚΙ / ΝΟΣ, nude youth on horseback left, crowning horse that raises left foreleg. Magistrates' names: ΛΥKΙ-ΝΟΣ in two lines between horse's legs; ΣY in upper right field / TA-PAΣ, ethnic beneath Taras on dolphin left, hurling trident; in upper right field, owl Vlasto.836. HN.Italy.1025. Vlasto.836; HN.Italy.1025; SNG ANS 1165. Good VF, original gray patina, reddish spot (core exposure) at 4:00 obverse - well-centered, all legends, etc, clearly legible, very nice for a fourèe.
