Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III the Great. 336-323 B.C. AR drachm (17.3 mm, 4.19 g, 11 h). Kolophon mint, struck ca. 322-319 B.C. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; KA monogram and tripod in left field, A below throne, N(?) in inner right field. Price 1767 var. (monogram in left field, B(?) below, right field mark); Müller 147 var. (same). Fine, toned and porous. Rare and unpublished variety.
