Chimu-Inca Zoomorphic Bottle. A gorgeous Chimu-Inca zoomorphic bottle from Peru, ca. 1300 - 1500 AD. This lovely orangeware example is 7" high and depicts a morphed mythical creature draped over the top of the chamber. It has the head of a Spectacle Bear, but the body and tail of a lizard. The animal is molded in high relief, is burnished and highlighted with white pigment to set it off from the stippled surface surrounding it. In perfect condition, with extensive dendrites.  Ex Sarmiento collection.  Value range $400 - $600.
