St : RVDBERTVS · EPS : SALISB :, 3/4 figure of nimbate St. Rudbertus, in tall hat and heavily robed, standing facing, holding globe and crook / + : MAX : CAND : D : G : ARCHIEP : SALISE :, date, 1681, above two united shields of arms; 3 in cartouche at bottom; all within dotted border. Cf. Popken, Salzburg 1006 ; Probszt 99. NGC certified MS 64, exceptional condition for this early of a piece, some slight darkening in fields, otherwise it's thoroughly brilliant.
