Alexius III Angelus-Comnenus. 1195-1203. BI trachy (26.2 mm, 2.94 g, 6 h). Constantinople mint, struck 1195-1197. KЄ ROHΘЄI IC-XC, bust of Christ facing, beardless, wearing nimbus, pallium and colobium, and raising right hand in benediction, scroll in left hand / AΛЄΣIW ΔECΠ Θ KWNTANTI, Alexius, crowned, and St Constantine, bearded and nimbate, each wearing divitision and loros, both standing facing, each holding a labarum and the two holding a cross on globe bewteen them. SBV 2012; DOC 3. aVF, interesting double strike, giving the appearance of three figures on the reverse.
