John II Comnenus. 1118-1143. AE half-tetarteron (16.21 mm, 3.24 g, 6 h). Nimbate Christ standing facing on footstool, wearing pallium and colobium and holding book of Gospels; IC - XC across upper fields / Iω ΔЄCΠOT (or similar - mostly illegible), John standing facing, wearing crown, divitsion and loros, and holding cruciform scepter and globus cruciger. SBCV 1945 (or half-tetarteron # 1954). VF for type, "octagonal" clipped flan as usual, smooth dark olive patina, some minor lighter deposits.
