Diocletian. A.D. 284-305. AE 23 antoninianus (22.8 mm, 3.22 g, 8 h). Lugdunum mint, Struck A.D. 289-290. IMP DIO[C]LETIANVS AVG, radiate bust of Diocletian left wearing consular robe and holding eagle-tipped scepter / IOV-IA-VGG, Jupiter standing facing, head left, holding globe and resting on scepter; eagle standing left at feet, head right // A. RIC V 28. VF, little-to-no wear, well-struck and centered, in good style with nice detail but with an uneven, slightly rough, multicolored patina. Ex University of Leiden, Ca. 1850, with individual tray included, neatly hand written in Spencerian calligraphy, in German.
