Contemporary Celtic copy of Thasos tetradrachm. unofficial mint, after 148 B.C. anepigraphic, Head of young Dionysos right, wreathed with ivy, band across forehead / Illiterate indication of legend with dots, Herakles, naked, standing facing, head left, holding club, lion's skin over left arm (indicated with dots); illiterate indication of monogram with dots to left. SGCV 1759; Cf. Dembski 117, 1520.. VF, crudely struck, as usual, gray patina with reddish highlights in recesses.
