Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III the Great. 336-323 B.C. AR tetradrachm (31.7 mm, 16.93 g, 12 h). Uncertain official mint (Probably Babylon?), ca .B.C. 311-300 anepigraphic, Head of Alexander right, as young Hercules wearing lion-skin headdress with paws tied beneath chin / AΛEΞANΔΡO[Y], Zeus seated on backless throne left, holding eagle and scepter / H[P?] monogram in field to left, possibly above a 2nd monogram or symbol too worn to distinguish, [A or Λ beneath seat?] . Cf. Price 3708. VF, well struck and centered, some wear on reverse making exact attribution difficult.
