Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. AR antoninianus (22.1 mm, 4.25 g, 5 h). Uncertain eastern mint - possibly Antioch mint, Struck A.D. 243-244. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III seen from behind / MARTI P-ACIFERO, Mars running left holding olive-branch, grounded spear & shield. RIC IV 212; RSC 162a; SRCV 8625. Good VF , Interesting style, boldly engraved, well struck and centered on full-size flan; much original strike surface, somewhat mottled gray patina.
