Nicephorus III Botaniates. 1078-1081. BI follis (24.5 mm, 4.51 g, 7 h). Anonymous Class I follis. Constantinople mint, Struck ca. 1080-1085. anepigraphic, Nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing pallium and colobium, raising hand in benediction and holding scroll; IC - XC to left and right / anepigraphic, Latin cross with x at center; globule and two pellets at each extremity; in upper fields, crescents, in lower fields, floral ornaments. SBCV 1889. Good VF for type, well-centered on adequate-sized flan; dark olive patina with ochre deposits in some fields and recesses.
