Cilicia, Tarsus. Philip II. A.D. 247-249. AE 35. 34.6 mm, 19.04 g, 6 h). AVT KAI IOV ΦIΛIΠΠON EVT EVC CE, Π-Π, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / TAPCOV MHTPOΠOΛEΩC AMK ΓB, Selene, with crescent on head and billowing veil, driving biga of bulls right. SNG BN 1729 (Philip I); BMC 300 (Philip II); SNG Levante -. aVF. Rare. SNG BN does not list any coins of Philip II from Tarsus, but the youthful portrait leads me to believe that this is the younger Philip. This is the only type attributed to Philip II by the British Museum.
